Lawrence has such a distinct, soulful voice that is more than perfect for a wedding! His voice ties the ambience together without overpowering the acoustics of the venue, creating a beautiful mood. Here are some common questions we receive from our clients. Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE BOOKING?

Most people have an idea of the kind of music they want to enjoy at their event, so that’s a great starting point! I recommend looking up live versions of your favorite songs and familiarizing yourself with the kinds of instruments that are on stage. Is there a horn section? Additional vocalists? Do you especially like that guitar or piano solo?This will help determine what kind musicians to include and give you better idea of what you want.
If you’re considering other entertainment options, I highly recommend asking specific questions about the lead vocalist and/or emcee that will be there the day of your event. A lot of event bands, especially the larger companies, hire freelance musicians, who client’s aren’t able to verify beforehand. I recommend asking for performance videos and/or a consultation with the singer, and make sure they include the performer in whatever contract you sign.

DO YOU OFFER A FREE CONSULTATION?

Definitely! We can meet in person at our SoHo office, Zoom/FaceTime/Skype, or phone call. Invite whoever, ask whatever, and let’s get to know each other!

DO I NEED TO PAY IN ADVANCE?

To confirm your event, a 50% deposit is required, which can be submitted through Zelle, Venmo, or a mailed check with no additional fees.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?

Sooner the better! We book over two years in advance in some cases, so besides confirming the date and guaranteeing our availability, an advanced booking gives us more time to prepare!

CAN WE CHOOSE WHAT SONGS YOU PLAY?

We pride ourselves on exceeding expectations! Besides offering an extensive songbook with almost 2,000 options to choose from, we work hard to honor special requests that aren’t on our list. There’s no guarantee, since there’s a lot that goes into the process, but adding new songs help us grow and it’s always in our best interest to make you happy!
*For weddings we guarantee any special request for your first dance, parent dance(s), and ceremony entrance song, if we don’t already know it.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN YOUR WEDDING PACKAGES?

All our wedding packages are all-inclusive, so no hidden costs! This includes:
  • Lawrence Trailer as MC (Master of Ceremonies), lead vocalist, band leader, and acoustic guitarist.
  • All travel costs, within a 200-mile radius from NYC.
  • All audio equipment for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, as well as a dedicated sound technician for the duration of the event.
  • All lighting equipment for the reception stage.
  • A wireless microphone for the ceremony officiant and speeches during the reception.
  • A 30-45 minute SOLO on-site ceremony performance.
  • A speaker/playlist setup for the cocktail hour
  • A 4-hour reception, consisting of four 45-minute sets by the band and/or DJ.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE SOLO CEREMONY PERFORMANCE.

Included in all our wedding packages is a SOLO performance from any musician in the reception band. They’ll perform the processional and recessional music, as well as a customized newlywed entrance song. We also provide you with a live recording about a month before the big day, so you can rehearse your walk from the entrance to the alter with no delays.

WHAT IS THE “SPEAKER/PLAYLIST” FOR COCKTAIL HOUR?

We offer a speaker setup that be can connected to any playlist with bluetooth capabilities, just in case you’d like to control the music yourself. We offer upgrades for cocktail hour as well, if you’d prefer live entertainment instead, but we like the “quiet before the storm” approach.

HOW DO I GUARANTEE THAT YOU’LL BE AT MY EVENT?

Once we receive a signed agreement and deposit (half of the total amount) we block the date from any other inquiries and are 100% confirmed for your event!

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I BOOK WITH YOU?

After we confirm, I send out a client questionnaire that touches on every aspect of a wedding or special event that we could think of. It’s a very helpful tool with past clients, especially those without an event coordinator, and you’re able to fill it out over time. This puts us on the same page (literally) from the start!
