Luke Sellick
LUKE SELLICK is a bassist, composer, teacher and bandleader hailing fromWinnipeg, Canada. Now a mainstay of the New York scene, Luke travels theworld as the bassist-of-choice for many preeminent jazz artists including MontyAlexander, Russell Malone, Benny Golson, and others.A Master’s graduate of the Juilliard School, Luke moved to NYC in 2012 wherehe studied with legendary bassist Ron Carter and began his ‘on-the-job’ musicaltraining as a member of the Johnny O’Neal Trio, with whom he performed weeklyat classic NYC jazz clubs Smoke, Smalls and Mezzrow for many years.In 2015 Luke joined the quartet of the late guitar-great Russell Malone (DianaKrall, Ron Carter, Harry Connick Jr.), with whom he recorded two albums (TimeFor the Dancers,All About Melody) and toured extensively. Luke beganperforming with saxophone legend Benny Golson in 2016. Since 2019, Luke hastoured internationally with pianist Monty Alexander, appearing on his 2024 jazzchart-topping albumD-Day.His performance career has taken him to venuesfrom Tokyo to Sao Paolo, Jazz festivals from Mumbai to Monte Carlo, and a greatmany stops along the way!In 2017 Luke released his debut albumAlchemist (Cellar Live), followed by hisChristmas EPand his latest quintet recordDiscovery (Inside-Out). His latestprojects includeSmall VacationandAberdeen Blues,jazz-folk duos with guitaristAndrew Renfroe, andJust the Way You Are,a collaboration with Chicago pianistBen Paterson. He is currently based in Washington Heights, NYC, and hasperformed worldwide with a plethora of top jazz artists including GeorgeColeman, Houston Person, Kenny Barron, Jimmy Greene, Renee Rosnes, RonBlake, Lewis Nash, Carl Allen, Peter Bernstein, Donald Vega, and a great manyothers.In addition to his busy touring schedule, Luke can often be heard at his church inNYC, CityLight. Luke’s musical philosophy is epitomized in the words of J.S.Bach, that “the end of all music is none other than glory of God and therefreshment of the spirit”.
Mar Vilaseca
Vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Mar Vilaseca was born in 1998, in Barcelona,Spain. Margrew up in a musical environment and learned how to play and sing at a very young age. Shewasclassically trained in piano and traditional harmony at the Conservatorio del Liceo. At the age of14, shestarted singing professionally in her father’s band, where she began her career in jazz andmodernmusic. Mar finished her classical studies in 2016 and decided to focus her career on vocal jazz.Shestudied her Undergraduate Degree in Jazz Voice at the Escuela Superior de Música deCatalunya,graduating in 2020. Upon graduation, In August of 2020, Mar released her Debut Album FindThe Way,presenting all original compositions. Subsequently, she moved to New York to study her Masterof Musicin Jazz Studies at The Juilliard School, with Professors Wynton Marsalis, Carla Cook, ElioVillafranca, andDonald Vega among others. She graduated in 2022 with the JCAF Award.Mar has collaborated with numerous artists including Hermeto Pascoal, Elio Villafranca, JoeSaylor, JoséMadera, Emmet Cohen, Benny Benack or Steven Feifke. She has performed at variousinternationalmusic festivals such as Barcelona Jazz Festival (Spain), Guangzhou Jazz Festival (China), andFestival deJazz de Bogotá (Colombia). She has played in acclaimed jazz clubs in the United States, forinstance JazzAt Lincoln Center, Birdland, Smalls Jazz Club, The Jazz Gallery, The Jazz Showcase, Winter’sJazz Club andChris’ Jazz Café, and she has also participated in televised advertisements, movie overdubs,film scoring,and fashion events. Mar Vilaseca is currently persuading her career in the United States.
Charles Goold
Charles Goold, is one of New York City’s hardest working jazzdrummers of his generation. Being the son of jazz tenorsaxophonist, Ned Goold and a Haitian mother, Goold has usedboth experiences in his upbringing to form a style of jazz blendingmodern hard bop stylings with traditional Haitian and AfroCaribbean rhythms.Goold graduated from The Juilliard School and was awarded TheJuilliard Career Advancement Fellowship Grant in May 2017.Following his graduation, Goold performed with the best in thejazz industry such as Wynton Marsalis and The Jazz at LincolnCenter Orchestra, Javon Jackson, Johnny O’Neal, Steve Nelson.
Evan Atwell-Harris
Sydney-born, Juilliard-trained, and now a mainstay of the NYC jazz scene. Evan has performed with the Wynton Marsalis Quintet, toured with Jazz at Lincoln Center, and holds court at Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club, Birdland, and Smalls. Named 2018 Young Australian Jazz Musician of the Year.
Joshua Richman
Award-winning pianist, composer, and band-leader, Joshua Richman received his BA fromWilliam Paterson University in 2008. In 2010, he completed his master’s degree studying jazzpiano performance at The Juilliard School. Joshua has studied jazz with piano legends such asMulgrew Miller and Kenny Barron, and classical piano with Gary Kirkpatrick. He is a two-timewinner of the ASCAP Foundation Young Jazz Composer Award. Along with leading the JoshRichman Quintet, Joshua has been fortunate to have performed with distinguished artists suchas Andrea Bocelli, Wynton Marsalis, Terell Stafford, Chris Potter, Randy Brecker, PeterWashington, Kenny Washington, Benny Golson, Joel Frahm, Steve Wilson, Lea Delaria, JohnEllis, Harry Allen, Jeremy Pelt, and Eric Alexander. Joshua also was the pianist for AnthonyRapp and Stephen Sondheim at the “Sondheim on Sondheim-In Words and Music” event atWilliam Paterson University. Although based primarily out of New York City, he regularlyperforms both nationally and internationally. Joshua is currently a faculty member at TempleUniversity, where he teaches classes, private lessons, ensembles, and conducts masterclasses.
